Cottage Fingering

Cottage Fingering features 19.5 micron untreated merino wool. Untreated means this yarn base is 100% merino wool, without superwash treatment. This is a 4 ply yarn with incredible softness, a nice smooth texture, and a bouncy hand. I love the way this yarn knits up and it is a great yarn for stitch work like lace and cables as it has wonderful stitch definition. Cottage Yarns are an excellent choice for colorwork and fair isle knitting. While this is a pure wool yarn, it is not at all scratchy and is next to skin soft. Because this yarn is not treated, it requires hand washing only as the wool will felt.
