Floor Associate (Part-Time)

Knit Tuck & Purl is a community-centered local yarn shop where beautiful fibers meet learning, connection, and creativity. We host classes, knit nights, and events that bring makers together, and we proudly support local designers and makers. We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Floor Associate who enjoys helping people and contributing to a welcoming creative space.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome customers and help them feel at home in the shop
  
• Assist with yarn selection, substitutions, and basic project questions
  
• Support knitters and crocheters of all skill levels with patience and encouragement
  
• Help promote and support classes, knit nights, and special events
  
• Engage with customers about local makers, designers, and shop offerings
  
• Operate POS, handle transactions, and maintain accuracy
  
• Receive, stock, and organize yarn and notions with care (including dye lots)
  
• Maintain a tidy, inspiring sales floor
  

What We’re Looking For

• Interest in knitting, crochet, or fiber arts (experience a plus, not required)
  
• Warm, inclusive communication style
  
• Comfort talking with customers about classes, events, and projects
  
• Attention to detail and respect for systems
  
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  

Schedule & Physical Requirements

• Part-time, including some weekends and occasional evenings for knit nights or events
  
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to ~30 lbs
