Delia by Kate Gagnon Osborn

This pattern is available on Ravelry

Designed by Kate Gagnon Osborn, Delia is worked at a dense gauge for a firm, warm, hat designed for plenty of use and wear. The hat begins with a long-tail tubular cast on for a lovely stretchy brim. The pattern is written for either a 2” (5 cm) brim or 4” (10 cm) folded brim, and the sample is shown in the shorter option. After the brim is complete, integrated increases are worked, and the body is worked in an all-over cable and seed stitch pattern. Integrated decreases shape the crown. Once complete, a large 2” pom pom is made and sewn to the top of the hat.

There are embedded links in the pattern to photo tutorials that may help you with some of the more advanced skills, including the long tail provisional cast on.
